Located 8 kilometers from the city center of Sinop, Sinop Airport has only a domestic terminal. Turkish Airlines offers reciprocal Sinop-Istanbul flights seven days a week at the airport, which was opened to flight traffic in 1993 but was closed in 2001 and reactivated in 2008. Sinop, which has touristic districts such as Boyabat, Ayancık, Gerze and Erfelek, is also the northernmost tip of Turkey. The minibuses, which are another alternative to reach Sinop city center from Sinop Airport, run in the direction of Sinop Bus Terminal, Sinop Prison and TOKİ residences.
Passenger services of Turkish Airlines, which can be used by passengers flying directly from Istanbul, depart from the airport to the city center. The vehicles complete their journey from Sinop Airport, Sinop Bus Terminal, Sinop Prison in front of the PTT building in the city center.
